Facilities
Stonesoup School is located in Crescent City, Florida and encompasses a beautiful, crystal-clear, 15-acre, spring-fed lake. The entire school setting is simple and rustic. By having our students live, work, and learn in this setting, we promote character building, self-reliance, and the development of survival skills.
School Credentials

Stonesoup School has an American Red Cross certified trainer of First Aid and CPR/AED on staff who provides certified training to both staff and students.
Academics
Stonesoup School offers a full range of academic classes based on the Sunshine State Standards approved by the State of Florida Board of Education.
Stonesoup School allows us to successfully reach learners who may have difficulty with the traditional classroom environment. Lesson plans are modified to meet the individualized needs of each learner. Coursework is completed independently, in small groups, or in one-on-one tutorials with teachers. Students who were at-risk of dropping out of conventional public school have met with great success in the open-air classroom of Stonesoup School.
Our educational philosophy requires students to take an active role in the learning process rather than be passive observers in a classroom; classes are often held outdoors or on excursions. Our vocational/elective studies include:- gardening
- cooking
- carpentry
- basic electrical work
- plumbing
- automotive work
Extracurricular activities may include canoeing a river, hiking a nearby National Forest trail, or a camping trip to experience the enjoyment of our surroundings. As a result of nature trips and our daily lifestyle, we often see our students develop an appreciation and respect for our planet.
Tuition
Stonesoup School tuition comes to $3,500 per month, with a $2,500 start-up fee. Student loans are available through Key Bank and CitiAssist.
